I'm alone to write to you, and on my feet sleeps Bobby, our dog. I really like to stay alone at least once a day. Here, we live so many intense moments that it takes time to digest them.

Poverty has many faces; you can see it on the amount of deaths, sick people, but also by the children who come to school, without any pen, or with opened wounds on the hands, that get infected when they put them in the mud. But, as you can see, we have chosen to show only positive images that respect people's dignity.

Some of our pupils also lost someone from their family (because of aids, malaria, a meningitus). Each time, their life changes, they take an active part in the family. At least, there is no war at the moment, against Erythree. Watching this school and the children that come every day, you can feel enthousiasm, energy, and their will to be children like the other ones, with pen and exercise books.

Tonight, we had too much beer, the best of the country. The three best are Saint Georges, Meta, and Bedele. Ethiopian wine is not very good, it gives strong headaches... Well, we'll see that tomorrow, combined with Lariam.

Results of the soccer tournament : the Monkeys beat the Lions 6 to 4, the Zebras beat the Tigers 2 to 1. The final will take place on Friday, between the Monkeys (captainship: Nicolas) and Zebras (captainship: Theo).

Here, it's hard to be born a woman...

Young girls haven't got time to study. When they come back from school, they have to prepare the dinner for the whole family, clean, take care of the youngests, go and get some water...

Many girls leave the school before it ends, much more than boys. Education is however the base to have notions of health and hygiene, vitals for the family.

Zenebe told us that in Meki School, there are some difficult cases. As soon as they can have a baby, girls are promised to a husband. Thus, many girls aged 15-16 miss the School because they are pregnant.

In the most isolated areas, some women are sold 200 Birr (20 £), as a cow is sold 600. Others are raped and then are forced to marry the man because they are pregnant.

Where is here the human dignity and in peculiar the one of the women ?

We wait for your comments on the Forum.

The respect of life and dignity of the human person are the main standards for a good economical, industrial and scientific progress.
